Sondhebelar harie jaoa rod,
Rattire ja taray taray hase-
Ratpakhider strotro bola sesh,
Poth hariye tomar kachhei ase.
Brishti ajo porche talir chade,
Ajhor tabu vijche prison van-
Sab hariye morte hobe bole,
Ekla suni tomar ferar gaan.
Sei sokale hariye jete giye,
Sanjbatite abar fire aso-
Ekla ghore bosei achi meye,
Ajke bolo amay bhalobaso?
Bondhura sob pothik hoye jai,
Sobdo ane sthobdho bikelbela-
Asbe? bole dekei choli ami,
Asbo bole sesh koro ei khela....

Coleridge once said that rhyme has thepeculiar capacity to free human minds. Poems like this one prove how and why Coleridge was exactly right. But it's not only the rhyme that attracts the imagination of the readers here. One should also take note of the spontaneity that one finds in these lines - spontaneity of beauty, spontaneity of pain, and of course spontaneity of love (or love's sad satiety, as Shelley has so famously observed). It's indeed refreshing to read such poems in the days which are unfortunately overshadowed by post-modernist trappings.
