Khub ordinary writing at the first glance. But I liked it, because the simplicity is deceptive. Beneath the apparent simplicity of this poem (should we call it a poem, or a sort of soliloquy?) one detects an observing mind that is trying to crack something which is difficult and complex. Lord Tennyson used this eagle-image to underscore the hypocrisy of the Victorian era, and here we see the eagle image - which tries to capture the fatal uncertainties of the post 9/11 days.
